Winston Learning Series

“Walking in the Shoes of a Child with Learning Disabilities” With the Trinity University School Psychology Program • Took place on Saturday, September 24, 2016. On Saturday, September 24, parents, teachers, university students and others experienced the disorienting world of dyslexia, dysgraphia, and other learning differences. Using mirrors and other tools, graduate students from Trinity University guided participants as they tried to read, do arithmetic, and other academic tasks. To most, this was a powerful experience that solicited compassion, respect, and tearful emotion for anyone who faces such challenges 24 hours a day.   Thanks to all the volunteers that make these events possible!   On Tuesday, October 18, at 7:00 PM, we will host our second event of the year, “Teaching the Child who Learns Differently”. Winston faculty members will present an overview of learning disabilities and specific strategies to help students with learning disabilities become more successful in school. Don’t miss it!...
