Dear Winston Community:
With Dr. Karulak's announcement of retirement you may be wondering what the next steps are for succession his replacement.
Dr. Karulak has through the years informed us of the best way for planning, and with his advice and the WSSA board's research, a plan is in place.
The Winston Board will be teaming with the leadership search firm Carney Sandoe & Associates to find a well-qualified and good fit to take the lead of Winston for future years. Carney Sandoe conducts searches spanning across the nation to find the best leadership possible. Realizing the enormity of replacing such a wonderful leader, the Winston Board has decided with the help of Carney Sandoe to find an interim Head of School for the school year 2021-2022. By hiring an interim this will allow us to thoroughly conduct a search for a new Head of School to take the helm of The Winston School San Antonio in a permanent manner. This person will be someone that has prior extensive experience as a school leader which caters to children with learning differences
The board will put in place a Search Committee to help with this endeavor. Please know that the board with the professional help of Carney Sandoe will find the right person for the job. You can rest assured that Winston will continue to provide the excellent education for students with learning differences for many years to come. In short the quality of student education will not falter.
Once again, we thank Dr. Karulak for his unbelievable dedication in making what The Winston School San Antonio is today. He will be greatly missed.
