Gina Garza

Gina Garza has been with WSSA since April 2025. A graduate of UTSA, with a B.A. in English, she brings more than 25 years of public relations and strategic communications experience to Winston. Born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas, she moved to New York in 2001 to begin a career in publishing that landed her at HarperCollins and Simon & Schuster. Previous clients include bestselling authors Simon Sinek, and Gabrielle Bernstein; and her work representing Austin Independent School District (AISD), the Austin Convention and Visitors Bureau (ACVB), Salt Lick BBQ, and Texas Restaurant Association are high points in her career.

She honed her skills working in the federal consulting space after moving to San Antonio in 2016, collaborating on cybersecurity projects with UTSA, the Department of Homeland Security, and the Department of Defense. These positions added certifications in Agile project management using Scrum methodologies. Pandemic life found her managing communications part-time at a local New Thought spiritual organization, where she improved her social media expertise in live streaming software, podcast tools, as well as strengthening community and volunteer engagement tactics. When she's not working, she's listening to music with her senior pup, Sadie.
