Social Media Addiction: Is it real?

We live in an age of technological wonder, yet for many, the screen has become a source of stress and compulsion. This presentation explores the dual nature of digital technology, celebrating its benefits while confronting its darker side. We will analyze the scientific evidence behind the term 'social media addiction' and equip you with actionable strategies to help slow or stop this behavior and reclaim control.

"Experience Dyslexia®”  
A Learning Disabilities Simulation


This event took place on Saturday, October 18, 2025,  from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm  

This intense, interactive workshop gave attendees a first-hand understanding of the difficulties and frustrations students with reading and language disabilities encounter.

To most, this is a powerful experience that solicits compassion, respect, and tearful emotion for anyone who faces such challenges 24 hours a day.


“Teaching the Child Who Learns Differently”


This in-person event will take place on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 - 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Winston's faculty members will present an overview of learning disabilities and specific strategies and tools that help students with learning disabilities become more successful in school.

“Life after Winston”


Moderated by Michelle Spoonemore. A panel of Winston alumni will speak about their life experiences and the transition from Winston to college and/or their careers.

This in-person event will take place on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm

You are invited to attend Life After Winston. This is an engaging conversation-style event where Winston alumni share their experiences in diverse paths after graduation. Our distinguished panel for this year is comprised of first-year college students, those further along in their journey, and alumni who are excelling several years into their chosen careers.

This event does not qualify for Continuing Professional Development Education.

The Winston School San Antonio is an approved provider of Continuing Professional Development Education for Teachers by the State Board of Education. (TEA I.D. #500962) This program is approved for a maximum of 1 CE credit.
