UPPER SCHOOL
The Winston Upper School delivers a robust college preparatory program for students who learn differently, embracing a multi-modal approach to education. We don't just differentiate instruction; we actively teach students time management and organizational skills to build on their strengths and address areas for growth, all aimed at preparing them for success after graduation.

Students are presented with the content of each course in a variety of ways and encouraged to show their mastery of the materials in alternative ways as well. Multisensory approaches, using visual, auditory, and hands-on activities, are employed to teach essential concepts. We also teach students how to organize, observe, and study effectively, often adapting assessments to remove unnecessary barriers. This approach familiarizes students with post-secondary expectations and empowers them to develop strategies for navigating their learning differences.
Additionally, our Upper School students benefit from a stellar College and Career Counseling Program. Led by a dedicated College Counselor, this program exposes students to a wide range of educational and vocational paths, ensuring each student progresses down the route that best suits their individual aspirations for life after Winston.
