At The Winston School San Antonio, we unlock the potential of bright students with learning differences, ADHD, and diverse learning needs. Our program focuses on individualized, multi-sensory instruction and building self-advocacy skills to help them succeed in school and beyond.
Core Program Features:
- Small class sizes: (10:1 student-to-teacher ratio) foster personalized attention, ensure close progress monitoring, and strong relationships between students and teachers.
- Personalized Education: Our faculty tailors instruction to each student's strengths and provides targeted support, ensuring a personalized learning experience.
- Assistive Technology Integration: Our classrooms use Chromebooks and software such as Read&Write to provide accessible learning tools for all students.
Divisions:
Lower School (K-6): We build strong foundations in reading, language arts, and math, along with fostering self-esteem. Our specialized Orton-Gillingham based programs provide targeted support for language-based reading disabilities. Students also enjoy enriching classes like PE, art, music, and theater arts.
Middle School (7-8): Acting as a vital link between our Lower and Upper Schools, this program focuses on skill development while using accommodations to help students succeed in content areas such as math, science, and social studies.
Upper School (9-12): Our college-preparatory program provides a multi-modal learning environment where students master concepts and gain skills in ways they learn best. Teachers adapt learning and assessments to remove unnecessary barriers, and our comprehensive College and Career Counseling Program guides students toward post-secondary success through personalized support, academic planning, dual credit, test prep, and the Winston CARES Alumni Program.
Summer at Winston:
Summer at Winston offers a variety of academic and enrichment courses, art programs, and athletic camps for students ranging from Kindergarten to 12th grade. Our Summer Program features The Winston School San Antonio’s unique instructional approach, including small class sizes, close monitoring of student progress, and a concentration on student strengths. Summer at Winston is open to Winston and non-Winston students with average to above-average intelligence who may or may not have a learning difference.
