📚 Reading Across America: A Day of Stories. We kicked off Monday, March 2nd with a campus-wide celebration of Read Across America, and the energy in the Lower School was incredible. 📖✨ The morning started with a flurry of excitement as our classrooms transformed into reading hubs. Our Lower Schoolers participated in special rotations, diving into new worlds through: Teacher Read-Alouds: Our faculty shared their favorite childhood classics and new discoveries. Special Guest Readers: Head of School, Dr. Michelle Spoonemore, Mr. Steve Yocham and others joined in the fun. Upper School Mentors: A highlight of the day! Our Upper School students joined in to read to their younger peers, proving that you’re never too old (or too young) to get lost in a good book. Seeing our older students bond with the Lower Schoolers over a shared story is what our community is all about. "The more that you read, the more things you will know. 🌊 Making a Splash at the EAA. Our 5th and 6th graders had an "aquifer-tastic" time yesterday. 💧 The group headed over to the Edwards Aquifer Authority’s Education Outreach Center for a day of hands-on discovery. Our students stepped into the shoes of real hydrogeologists, rotating through interactive exhibits to learn exactly where our local water comes from and how we can protect it. From exploring limestone caves to understanding the journey of a raindrop, it was an eye-opening experience for our future environmental stewards. Highlights of the trip: Hands-on rotations: Moving through high-tech exhibits designed to show the magic of our water supply. Local Impact: Learning why the Edwards Aquifer is so vital to our community. Scientific Discovery: Seeing science come to life outside the classroom.
