✨ Free Community Reading Screening (K–3rd) ✨ We are offering our first-ever free community reading screening designed to provide a brief review of your child’s reading skills and help identify whether they may be at risk for reading difficulties. 📅 Friday, June 12, 2026 🕣 8:30 AM – 2:30 PM 📍 The Center for Neurodiversity at The Winston School San Antonio 8565 Ewing Halsell Drive, San Antonio, TX 78229 ⏱️ Each screening is approximately 30–45 minutes 📌 Appointments are first-come, first-served 📝 Registration and completion of intake + consent are required prior to participation 🔗 Schedule your appointment by scanning the QR Code within the post or by using this link: https://tinyurl.com/CNDscreening What to expect: Your child will participate in brief, standardized reading tasks. Families will receive brief verbal feedback and a written summary report including: ✔ Reading strengths ✔ Areas needing support ✔ Next-step recommendations Important Information: This is not a diagnostic evaluation and does not determine special education eligibility. We're halfway through our first week of Summer School, and our students are already hard at work exploring, discovering, and growing! ☀️📚🔬 In Foundations of Science, students investigated the effects of friction by conducting experiments and analyzing how different types of vehicles moved along an inclined plane. Through observation, prediction, and testing, they gained hands-on experience with key scientific concepts. Meanwhile, students in Strengthening Reading with Mrs. Guzman continued building literacy skills through engaging activities designed to boost confidence, comprehension, and fluency. It's been a wonderful start to a summer of learning! Much more to come. 👏

Dyslexia is often associated with challenges in reading and language processing, but it is only one part of the story. Many individuals with dyslexia are strong problem-solvers, creative thinkers, and big-picture visionaries. The first day of summer school is in the books and our basketball campers came ready to play! 🏀☀️ With plenty of hustle, teamwork, and enthusiasm, students spent the beginning of the day sharpening their skills and having fun on the court.
