Lower School Teacher

Education: Ms. Archer received both her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and her Master of Arts in  Teaching from Trinity University.

Expertise: Ms. Archer teaches Lower School Kindergarten through 2nd grade. Prior to coming to Winston in 2022, she taught in San Antonio Independent School District for 2 years.

Education: Ms. Eakle received her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN.

Expertise: Ms. Eakle teaches Lower School 4th Grade. Prior to Winston, Ms. Eakle taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade for 32 years in Northside. She was the Science Facilitator at her school for 20 years. Ms. Eakle is a competitive swimmer, and she loves to travel!

Education: Ms. Eseo received her Bachelor’s of Science with a major in Art Education from Radford University.

Expertise: Ms. Eseo teaches Lower School art. Prior to Winston, Ms. Eseo taught middle and high school art, as well as several years of elementary art.

Education: Miss Fucheck received her Bachelor’s of Science with a major in Interdisciplinary Studies from Sam Houston State University.

Expertise: Miss Fucheck teaches Lower School math and sixth grade social studies. Prior to Winston, Miss Fucheck taught middle school English language arts, reading, and history, as well as a cornucopia of electives over her ten year career in private schools.

Education:  Mrs. Guzman received her Bachelor of Arts at the University of Texas San Antonio.

Expertise: Mrs. Guzman taught for 10 years in NEISD, 8 of those years she taught    
third grade and 3 of those years she taught kindergarten.

Lower School Teacher

Education: Ms. Hanson received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio and a Master of Education in Special Education with a focus in Assessments from Texas A&M University San Antonio. In conjunction with her master's degree, Ms. Hanson is trained in Dyslexia Therapy and is a Certified Academic Language Therapist.

Expertise: Ms. Hanson has been at Winston since 2008 and has ten years of teaching experience in other settings. She has taught Lower School Math, Reading, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, and Computer, as well as Middle School Reading, Language Arts, and American History, and Upper School English. Mrs. Hanson is also a part-time professor in Trinity University’s Education Department. Prior to coming to Winston, she taught in both the Northside and Boerne Independent School Districts. Ms.Hanson has also worked in Guatemala with Food for the Hungry as the Director of Communications in their Child Sponsorship Program.

Education: Ms. Higdon received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Texas A&M University. She is trained in several Orton-Gillingham based reading intervention programs

Expertise: Ms. Higdon teaches Lower School science and Take Flight dyslexia intervention for 5th and 6th grade students. She has been a classroom teacher and interventionist in both public and private schools for 13 years

Education: Ms. Kelley received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education from The University of Texas San Antonio.

Expertise: Ms.Kelley began her teaching career in San Antonio in North East Independent School District. She was with the district for 8 years. She began subbing and teaching at The Winston School San Antonio Summer Program in 2016. She joined the lower school team in 2020.

Education:  Mrs. Meineke received  her Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Illinois Wesleyan University and her Master of Science in  Education from Walden University.

Expertise: At Winston, Mrs. Meineke teaches the Wilson Reading Program and the 6th grade Reading/Writing Workshop. Prior to coming to Winston in  2022, she was a teacher and team leader in the Northside Independent School District.   With over 30 years experience,  she believes each child can learn and  loves to help her students find their spark!  Mrs. Meineke enjoys participating in a book club, traveling, being a P.E.O., playing the piano, and being a Winston Eagle!

Education: Miss Prezkuta received her Bachelor’s of Arts degree in English from Metropolitan State University of Denver. She has also trained under the Orton-Gillingham approach.

Expertise: Miss Prezkuta teaches Lower School 3rd grade. She has taught 3rd grade for two years at a private independent school in Denver, and has been in various roles in a number of different grade levels for nine years.

Education:  Mrs. Smith received her Bachelors of Science degree in Education with a Minor Art Education from Northern Arizona University. She earned her California Multiple Subject Teaching Certification for grades K-6 from the California Commission of Teachers.

Expertise: Mrs. Smith began teaching in 1997 in San Diego, California, and has over 12 years of experience in the classroom. Outside of the classroom, she’s been teaching all the while. In California, she owned her own in-home daycare/preschool; when she moved to Texas, she started her own tutoring company which specialized in dyslexia and other learning differences. She has found “her happy place” once again, at Winston in the 2nd grade.

Expertise: Miss Su’e teaches Lower School math and social studies. She began her teaching career in American Samoa as a STEAM teacher for primary and middle school students.

Middle School Advisor - Math Teacher

Education: Mr. Khalid received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics from the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Expertise: Mr. Khalid teaches Middle and Upper School Math.  Prior to coming to Winston, he worked at San Antonio College as a math tutor.  He also worked with the U.S. Army as a linguist.  Mr. Khalid is trilingual (Arabic, English, and Kurdish).

Education: Mrs. Lane received her Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Development from the University of South Florida; a Bachelor of Science Degree (cum laude) in Interdisciplinary Studies from Southwest Texas State University; and a Master of Education specializing in Administration from Concordia Lutheran University.

Expertise: Mrs. Lane teaches Middle School Social Studies. Prior to coming to Winston in 2000, Mrs. Lane taught in other private schools and served in the administration realm for more than 10 years.

Education: Mrs. Ramirez-Escamilla earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from St. Mary's University and a Master's Degree in education at UTSA.

Expertise: Mrs. Ramirez-Escamilla has taught elementary, middle school, and high school for 18 years. Her certifications include: EC-6 Generalist, 8-12 ELAR, Principal, GT, Science in Reading and ESL.

Education: Ms. Sultemeier received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Experimental Psychology at The University of the Incarnate Word and attended graduate school at the School of Psychology at Trinity University.

Expertise: Ms. Sultemeier is a D-Core Lower School teacher. She teaches Math, Reading, Language, and Science. Before Winston, she taught 5-8 grade Math and Science at St. Thomas More Catholic School. She also taught ESL Biology/Chemistry at Roosevelt HS. She began her teaching career at Fort Sam Houston ISD.

Education: Mrs. Borth received an Associate’s Degree in Special Education from the University of Great Falls; a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Montana Western; and a Master of Education in Reading Curriculum and Instruction from Grand Canyon University.

Expertise: Mrs. Borth has taught Middle School Language Arts and Reading, as well as U.S. History and College & Career Prep in our Upper School. Prior to coming to Winston, she taught in both the public and private school sectors, primarily in the area of special education.

Education: Mr. Cavatorta received his Master of Science Degree in Computer Information Systems and a Master of Business Administration from St. Mary’s University.

Expertise: Mr. Cavatorta has been at Winston since 2006 and teaches Upper School Math and Upper School Computer Programming.

Education: Mr. De Leon received both his Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education and Master of Science in School Administration from Texas A & I University.

Expertise: Mr. De Leon joins The Winston School with 31 years of experience.   His coaching experience as a Head Basketball Coach includes working at Kingsville IDS, Northside ISD, and North East ISD.

Education: Mrs. Hernandez received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Health with an emphasis in Business and Industry from The University of Texas at San Antonio and her Master of Education in Exercise Science from Texas State University.

Expertise: Mrs. Hernandez teaches Upper School Health and Speech classes. She also teaches Physical Education for the entire school. Prior to coming to Winston, she served as the head of the Physical Education Department at The Briarwood School, and was highly involved with the school’s Special Olympics program. Mrs. Hernandez also taught and coached in the Pleasanton Independent School District.

Education: Mrs. Hollowell received a Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Science from The University of Texas at El Paso.

Expertise: Mrs. Hollowell teaches Anatomy and Physiology. Prior to Winston, Mrs. Hollowell worked at an OB/GYN practice in Virginia before moving to San Antonio a year ago.

Education: Mrs. Lewis received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from The University of Texas at San Antonio. She is certified to teach ELA, ESL, and art.

Expertise: Mrs. Lewis teaches Middle and Upper School Art. She has taught since 1998, and joined Winston after an extensive career in the Northside Independent School District. She is a lifelong artist with a passion for the visual arts and the English language.

Education: Mrs. McCay received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from The University of Texas at San Antonio.

Expertise: Mrs. McCay teaches English Language Arts to our Upper School students, serves as the faculty sponsor for Winston’s Student Council, and coaches volleyball. Prior to coming to Winston, she worked as an 11th grade English teacher, and coached high school soccer and volleyball.

Upper School Math and Innovation/Maker Space

Education: Mr. Pacheco received his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Texas-Pan American (now called University of Texas - Rio Grande Valley) in December 2010. He went on to pursue a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Houston and graduated in December 2013.

Expertise: Mr. Pacheco teaches Upper School mathematics and science. Prior to Winston, he taught science (mostly physics) and math for 5 years with Houston ISD. He enjoys helping students prepare for academic competitions and hopes to start a math group at Winston. Mr. Pacheco also enjoys playing guitar and teaching martial arts.

Education: Mrs. Parra-Noonan received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Science from New Mexico State University and a Master of Science in Geology from The University of Texas at San Antonio.

Expertise: Mrs. Parra-Noonan teaches Middle School Science and Upper School Sciences. Prior to coming to Winston in 2014, she taught Environmental Science, Physics, and Biology at Holy Cross of San Antonio, and she taught Middle School in the public school sector.

Spanish Teacher

Education: Bachelor's of Arts from University of Texas at Rio Grand Valley. Master's of Arts in Teaching in the concentration of Special Education from Goucher College from Baltimore, MD.

Expertise: As a Spanish teacher, she educated students in communicating in foreign languages. She focuses on maintaining student educational potential by applying diverse and engaging instructional strategies, and maintaining classroom management techniques.

Rosie Quezada is a U.S. Army Veteran who served 4-1/4 years and was deployed for 12 months to Camp Taji, Iraq.

Education: Mrs. Ramirez received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Mathematics Minor in Government from  A&M International University

Expertise: Mrs. Ramirez teaches Upper School Mathematics Algebra 2 and PreCalculus at WSSA. She has taught for nineteen years at public schools in the state of Texas. Prior to coming to WSSA in 2022, she was teaching at NEISD for five years  where she taught Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, and Honors Algebra 2.  She was the Algebra 2  team leader, Algebra 1 STAAR tutor, a member of the technology committee, and co-sponsor of Student Council.

Education: Mr. Rodriguez received his Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from The University of Texas at Austin.

Expertise: Mr. Rodriguez teaches Digital Media I and II, and Graphic Design/Yearbook in our Upper School. Mr. Rodriguez comes to Winston from having served as the President and CEO of Digital Edge, a communications and video production company with clients such as Motorola USA, Cisco Systems, Frost Bank, etc. Mr. Rodriguez also spent time in television sports with both KSAT and KENS.

What do you love most about Winston? Everyone at Winston is different, which makes everyone fit in! Winston is a family and we support each other every step of the way.

Education: Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and Theatre; Master of Education in Secondary Education from Texas State University.

Expertise: Mrs. Schexnyder joined Winston in June of 2016. Previously, she served as an Undergraduate Admissions Counselor at Texas State University. She currently serves on the Executive Board of the Texas Association for College Admission Counseling (TACAC) and serves as a Co-Chair of the TACAC Government Relations Committee. She is also the faculty sponsor for the WSSA Dungeons and Dragons Club and the Winston chapters of the National Beta Club and National Honor Society.

Education: Miss Siiteri received her Bachelors of Science degree in Coastal Environmental Sciences and Society with a Minor in Diving Technology and Methods from Texas A&M University.

Expertise: Miss Siiteri teaches Biology, Anatomy, and Marine Biology. She just moved to San Antonio after living in Houston and running an Environmental Microbiology Lab.

Education: Mrs. Strahl received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Greenville College in Greenville, Illinois.

Expertise: Mrs. Strahl teaches Middle and Upper School English and Math. She has over 30 years of teaching experience, including 1-8th grade and K-12 special education. She came to Winston after spending 25 years in the North East Independent School District.

Music and Drama Teacher

Education: Mr. Villalpando Patrick attended Our Lady of the Lake University where he received a Bachelor's in Music with a concentration in Composition. While in school, Mr.Villalpando participated in both Our Lady of the Lake's Jazz Band and Choir. Outside of class, he also played bass guitar for a few local Jazz and cover bands.

Expertise: After graduating from OLLU, he went on to teach music lessons (voice, guitar, bass, piano, drum kit) out of a studio and a few charter schools. Along with that, he followed his love for cultural performing arts to become a technical and production assistant at the historic Guadalupe Theater (Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center).

Woodworking and Metal Shop Teacher

Education:  Mr. White received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Thomas Edison State College.

Expertise: Mr. White teaches Woodwork and Metalwork. A passionate believer in handcraft as both a skill and an art form, he has extensive experience in woodworking, design, and construction. He believes in using historic methods and tools integrated with modern technology and techniques and has built projects for individuals across the country as well as for a museum in Hawaii.

Director of Maintenance

What one word describes Winston? Dedicated.

What do you love most about Winston? I love that each Winston student has the opportunity to grow.

Expertise: Mr. Acord has been the Director of Maintenance at Winston since 2002. Prior to joining us at Winston, he worked in construction and also owned his own auto repair shop. He holds many certifications, including Ford-trained Service Technician, OSHA, Universal Technician, MVAC Technician, WebCTRL®, Spectra-Physics Laserplane operator, and many others.

Education: Mr. Canales received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Maryland and a Master of Arts Degree in Management from Webster University. His Texas Teaching Certificate is in the area of Special Education.

Expertise: Mr. Canales has taught Spanish I, II, and III at Winston since 2004. Prior to coming to Winston, he worked for 10 years as a special education teacher in one of San Antonio’s largest public school districts.

Expertise: Mrs. Cushman joined Winston in July of 2022 and brings 15 years of experience in event planning and coordination. Mrs. Cushman has experience in the non-profit sector, cultivating community relationships and advocating for educational expansion. Prior to Winston, she served as the Director of Operations for a local non-profit agency. Mrs. Cushman will manage our Volunteers and assist with the WSPA. Her passions are her children, audiobooks, and sewing.

What do you love most about Winston? I love Winston because of the diverse group of kids we have here, along with the support and passion our teachers have for all of our students.

Expertise: Mrs. Flores joined Winston in 2015. She has extensive experience in event planning and management. Mrs. Flores provides administrative assistance to our headmaster. She is also responsible for managing the student's records as our Registrar.

Education:  Miss Guajardo received her education from Career Point College as an Administrative Assistant.

Expertise: Quality customer service after serving as an administrative assistant and front office receptionist for schools in the San Antonio Area. Miss Guajardo joined the Winston community this summer and is ready for the new year!

Expertise: Ashley joins Winston with a breadth of experience in customer service and administrative support.  She worked at the San Antonio School of Inquiry and Creativity for seven years until its closing in 2015.  She then began working as the Manager and Personal Assistant to the CEO of National Embroiders and was there for seven years as well.

What do you love most about Winston? At Winston, you don't feel like a number, you feel like a family member.

Expertise: Mrs. Harris joined Winston in 2018 after gaining experience in an educational setting at AHISD and NEISD. In her spare time, Mrs. Harris enjoys watching her daughters playing sports.

Expertise: Mr. Lindholm has 15 years combined experience of property and facility maintenance and janitorial/custodial services ranging from Military installations to College Universities.

What do you love most about Winston? I love the people at Winston. It's a great environment to be in.

Expertise: Mrs. Lopez works in Winston’s Business Office processing accounts payable and receivable. Prior to coming to Winston, she had 23 years of experience as the Director of Finance of a local catering company.

What do you love most about Winston? I love that my son and his classmates have increased confidence, academics, and a dramatically improved life outlook after being a part of Winston. He is now a Winston Alumni and working on his B.F.A. at The University of Texas San Antonio

Education: Bachelor of Arts in Communications with a major in Radio, Television, and Film from the Universidad Regiomontana.

Expertise: Mr. Morales began his position as Director of Communications for Winston in 2012 and in 2021 accepted the position of Director of Information Technology. Prior to that, he served as owner and VP of Operations for Digital Edge, a communications and video production company.

What do you love most about Winston?  Winston takes the time to understand how each student learns and applies that knowledge in the classroom.

Education:  Ms. Reyes received her Bachelor's degree in Counseling Psychology from Delaware Valley University and then earned her Master's degree from Our Lady of the Lake University.

Expertise: Prior to Winston, Ms. Reyes worked in San Antonio public schools for five years evaluating students with diverse backgrounds and disabilities. Ms. Reyes joined Winston in 2022.
