WAYS TO GIVE

Thankful for the many ways you support Winston!

We are proud of the support that The Winston School San Antonio receives each year from our generous community of current families, alumni families, trustees, faculty, community partners, and friends. Each supports Winston in many ways: by volunteering their time, sharing their expertise, donating financially, and actively participating in school life. The partnership, between family, friends, and school, allows Winston to stay strong and grow its mission!

Gifts by mail usually take the form of a personal check or money order made payable to The Winston School. Please mail your contribution to:

A pledge enables a donor to consider larger commitments and fulfill them with payments spread over a period of time. Reminders will be sent about your commitment. All pledges for Annual Fund must be paid in full by the end of the school's fiscal year – June 30th. Pledges for a capital campaign may be extended over a period of a number of years.

Several workplace giving campaigns will honor your donation to The Winston School San Antonio. Simply include our designation number (listed below) on your selection form.

  • Bexar County Local Charitable Campaign (#8615)
  • Combined Schools Local Charitable Campaign (#8615)
  • Texas State Employee Charitable Campaign (#105006)
  • Combined Federal Campaign (#6621)

While there are several ways to transfer appreciated securities to the school, we have found the most efficient method is a direct transfer, via DTC, from your brokerage account to that of the school. Most firms require written authorization to facilitate such a transfer. Please contact Isabel Jones, Chief Advancement Officer at 210-615-6544 or email at ijones@winston-sa.org for additional information that you will need to complete the transaction.

Since many companies offer matching gift programs, we encourage you to check and see if your employer has a program which will match your donation made to The Winston School. A corporate match may allow you to double – or even triple – the impact of your gift and the donor is recognized for the entire amount! A matching gift may be requested for a donation made to the Annual Fund, as well as donations made to capital campaigns.

Making a gift in memory or in honor of a family member, mentor, colleague, or friend is a thoughtful way to remember someone special. Gifts made through any of the methods described above can be designated in honor or memory of a loved one or in celebration of a milestone event, such as a birthday, anniversary, or graduation.

This opportunity allows individuals to ensure the financial well-being of The Winston School by making gifts that provide a maximum benefit for the school, while decreasing the income tax, estate, and gift tax burdens upon their estates and descendants. Philanthropic giving can merge your personal financial needs and tax planning.

Bequests often enable donors to give more than would have been possible during their lifetimes. Bequests may be kept private, and they can be changed during the donor's lifetime. Bequests are relatively easy to establish, often with just a simple addition to a will or revocable trust, and bequests are tax-wise: gifts through bequests qualify for certain estate tax deductions.
