“Walking in the Shoes of a Child with Learning Disabilities”
Will take place on Saturday, September 29, 2018, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
On Saturday, September 29, parents, teachers, university students, and others will experience the disorienting world of dyslexia, dysgraphia, and other learning differences. Using mirrors and other tools, graduate students from Trinity University will guide participants as they try to read, do arithmetic, and other academic tasks. To most, this will be a powerful experience that solicits compassion, respect, and tearful emotion for anyone who faces such challenges 24 hours a day.
The Winston School San Antonio fine arts department held our Fine Arts Night on April 19th. Theatre arts teacher Carol Gulley, with the assistance of Toni Phelps, organized on an amazing show with Winston's one-act play, Stopping at Ellis Island. Friends and family were in attendance and were treated to a rousing performance by Winston's outstanding performers.
When the play concluded, those in attendance were treated to a display of 2D art by students under Mrs. Stacie Lewis' instruction. The display showed amazing creativity from the Winston art students. Under the instruction of Richard Rodriguez, Digital Media students also had fantastic photography material on display.
