WINTER BREAK!
The CDC has released these guidelines for this Holiday season.
Holiday Celebrations and small Gatherings - CDC - Center for Disease Control and Prevention
Dear Parents:
I have received several parent inquiries regarding the school’s position on school attendance after Winter Break. The last day of school for the first semester is Friday, December 18, 2020, and the second semester begins on Monday, January 4, 2021.
WSSA has had four COVID-19 cases this semester. Each case was contracted outside the school and not from direct contact from any individual on campus. Each case has been reviewed by a member of the medical team that provides guidance to me and the Administration.
It’s the school’s plan to conduct in-person and distance learning beginning Monday, January 4, 2021. If there is a change in this position, all parents will be emailed no later than Saturday, January 2nd. The announcement will be posted on the school’s website.
Parents whose children participate in in-person learning will have the option for their child to participate in distance learning for one week, January 4 - 8, 2021 and then return to campus the following Monday, January 11, 2021. If you are considering this option for your child and would need a Chromebook for classes, please contact your child’s Core teacher or advisor to checkout a Chromebook by the end of the day on Friday, December 18th. If your child will participate in distance learning, please contact the office on January 4th.

If you have any questions, please contact the school. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we develop a plan that allows us to provide the best possible learning environment for our students.

Today, Winston students learned about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his unyielding influence on American society. The presentation, crafted by Mrs. Williams and Mr. Rodriguez, highlighted the impact that Dr. King had, as well as the origins of cultural traditions we participate in every day; from jazz, to architecture, tap dance, cuisine, language and many more. "Life's most persistent and urgent question is, what are you doing for others?" - MLK As we celebrate on Monday, let us try to do something kind for one another, for that is the ultimate dream. ✨🦅❤️ #MLK #Winstonschoolsa #winstoneagles #love #bekind
